Kiyotaka Miyagawa
Founder, President and Representative Director
Mr. Miyagawa moved to Australia at a young age and established two Australian companies. While mass-producing and exporting his own stretch limousines, Mr. Miyagawa started research and development of submersibles at an Australian company in 1996. In 2002, he established Amuza Japan Co., Ltd. in Tokyo and assumed the position of CEO. He has promoted the commercialization of submersibles and is considered an expert in this field.
Shinichi Takagawa
Director, Chief Technology Officer
As the former Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology (JAMSTEC), and named the “Shinkai 6500” development leader, Mr. Takagawa joined Amuza after working as a professor at the Institute of Industrial Science, the University of Tokyo. He is a leading person in manned submersible development, and has a wide range of expertise in design, engineering and motion analysis. As our CTO, Mr. Takagawa is in charge of general submersible development, as well as designing and assembling major parts such as manipulators and large canopies.
Russell Gottfredson
Director, Chief Marketing Officer
Mr. Gottfredson is a consultant and fund manager, managing a portfolio of more than $400m in corporate and real estate assets in Japan and the US. While based in Tokyo, he serves on the boards of companies in Japan and the US. Previously, Mr. Gottfredson was a consultant at Bain and Company where he advised clients in consumer products and private equity sectors, among others. He has an MBA from the Wharton School, an MA from the University of Pennsylvania, as well as a BS from Brigham Young University.
